Conversations that Build Community and Cultivate Art
This blog extends the dialogue created during our bi-annual art shows by featuring the ways in which our patrons, peers, and community find art in their lives. We believe supportive communities cultivate art, and with each post, we are building relationships rooted in mutual support. Follow us on our journey through your email box by subscribing over on the right. Contribute with your voice on our site in the comments. The Content Creation Team:
In January, I put out a call for 3 Interns who wanted real practical experience producing art. The call highlighted the values the committee identified as the direction of our organization, and an outline for the content production. By getting clear on the type of organization we wanted, we were able to attract others willing to help us make it happen. These people are highly motivated and inspired individuals committed to building community through the promotion of art.

Kadence Englehardt, Project Manager
Kadence brings 6 years of management experience to the project team. She strives to lead by example in every project she undertakes, because the “iron-fist” type of leadership only stifles the voices of others. Group dynamics, by their nature, promote creative genius when its members feel comfortable and safe, and therefore, she openly welcomes others to express their ideas in a reassuring domain. She values working with people who are highly motivated to create interesting and inspiring work.

Jessica contributes her capable writing skills as well as her naturally inquisitive and insightful nature to the team. She nurtures professional interests in music, audiovisual communications, and new media and seeks to apply her abilities towards creating innovative ways of communicating with others. She deeply values community and the connection of all life and believes that each person has a voice, and music, that deserve to be heard.

Born and raised in Seattle WA, Sam began his undergraduate education at Seattle University in 2005 graduating with his BA in the Visual Arts and Digital Design in 2009. Sam has found his inspiration for the arts in his family’s print shop and art gallery. His exposure to a variety of illustration and print making lead him to explore pen and ink as a primary medium. Most recently Sam has begun the development of his new company Tellurian Syndicate. TS integrates his love for illustration and print making, offering new eco-friendly apparel, with all designs and illustrations produced by Sam Angell and partner Daniel Durkan.

And Me:
I am the vision behind the marketing and brand development for BAC and the director of the content team. In my 8 years of commercial photography production experience I have learned nothing compares to the unique creative expression of oneself. It is with this insight that I’ve set out to develop productions and programs that help others do just that. I believe work is art when rooted in the desire to grow; limitations are tools for solving problems; and sustainability happens when we build in a place for the future. Primarily, my contributions on the blog will be behind the scenes, but I will also be contributing some photography and occasional posts throughout the year.

I am so thrilled for you Trevor—and Proud. Your work is amazing. Namaste, Momma
I appreciate the artists sharing their thought and insights for happiness and love of art. What a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow from one another.
